Dog Pulls Other Dog to Safety

Here’s some amazing road-cam footage of a dog helping to save another dog who had been hit on the highway. (Hard to watch that footage of the first dog being hit, but amazing to see the other dog helping.)

I know it’s evil of me to spoil the good feeling, but I can think of another reason why a dog would pull something off the road.

  1. Wait, what’s the other reason?

  2. Dogs are scavengers. It looked like there was another dog or two in the background, which made me think that there might be a number of stray dogs here. And if there are a number of stray dogs, they’re probably hungry…

  3. OK,what is wrong with this picture is that the drivers are not helping. Is it that hard to believe that the dog(alive) could really be trying to help the other dog out. I doubt the live dog is thinking “Hey guys there’s dinner, twenty bucks if I go out into the street and retrieve.”

  4. Maybe it was the hand of God illustrating something to us. Awww….bullshit! Dogs, like people (us less so) have a very deep rooted pack mentality. There are ton of incidences where the dog saves somebody. It is in their nature (even wolves) and ours. Nobody thinks they are going to be a hero until they are. 2 or 3 years ago a guy won the Carnigy? award for bravery by fighting a bear (with a swiss army knife) who was mauling his friend and then carried him seven! miles to the ranger station. It is heartining but not terribly unusual. To argue the other side…. Yes dogs will eat anything and people will F++k each over in an instance but there are exceptions to the rule and this dogmay have been one of them.

  5. If that dog was truly scavenging, then why would it have used its forelegs instead of its “Teeth” to pull it off of the side of the road? It did so, because it was not trying to “harm” the other dog, it was trying to save him.
